2019 Rossiter Boats The Whitehalls 13'

Little is known about the origins of the Whitehall but the elegant and practical design was first used in New York in the early 1800’s by navy builders. It was used as a workhorse carrying cargo and men to and from ships in harbor and ranged in size from 12 footers up to 24 feet.

Our Whitehall 13’ and 17’ are traditionally designed rowboats with the distinctive wineglass stern. The principle difference between the two models is that the 13' design is lapstrake hull with a liner and has an adjustable single rowing seat. The 17' has a smooth skin hull with two fixed seats giving you the flexibility to row single or double.

The more popular Whitehall 13 design can easily be rowed by one person with room for two passengers. The adjustable rowing seat is teak and the passengers’ are fiberglass offering positive buoyancy adding to the boat’s stability and seaworthiness. It can also be towed behind a larger boat as a tender and carried on a car to any destination. And for those times when you want a little power the transom on either model can accommodate a two or three horsepower engine as long as you don’t mind using a tiller extension when boating alone.

As with all Rossiter Boats, the Whitehalls are built for each individual customer and, as such, you can choose from a range of colour combinations to match your tastes. You also have the option of Kevlar if you would like yours a little lighter.
